Premium Member Welcome Kit

step-by-step guide to optimizing your profile

Dear Crosswater Connect Premium Member:

We are so happy to have you here as part of the Crosswater Connect family! We want to make sure you know about the valuable assets that come with your membership so you can connect with your past, current and future customers in Nocatee. If at any point you have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to give us a call or drop us an email, and we will make every effort to respond right away. We are here for you to help you grow your business.

Building out your profile

Make sure to optimize your profile by adding details about your business. The items you want to make sure you fill in are Contact Information including an updated logo or headshot, website and social profile links, Company Details including any awards and honors. The company description should be succinct and be about what you provide your customers.

In addition, did you know you can post photos, videos, coupons, events, properties, and blogs as a premium member? You can access these features by logging into Crosswater Connect and going to your profile. Make sure you select Edit Profile located on the right side of your profile to take you to the correct editing screen.

Once in the editing screen or Profile Dashboard, the left toolbar is where you will click to add various elements to your profile. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to do that.

Posting Videos

Click on the down arrow to the right of videos to reveal the drop down menu.

Click on Add a Video and a new screen will appear to add the video link and title.

Add your title, You Tube or Vimeo Link, Smart Tags and Video Description.

Hit save changes.  Change Publish to Yes.

Example information about your video might be:

Title: How to determine if your dryer vent needs professional cleaning

Link: Your video must first be uploaded to either You Tube or Vimeo before you can add the link to your Crosswater Connect page.

Smart Tags: Categories or search terms for your video. For example: dryer cleaning, dryer repair, home maintenance, dryer stopped heating

Description: More detail about what your video is about.

** Don’t forget to select “Publish” at the top of the page to make your videos, photos, coupons, etc. live on the website.**

Posting Photos

Similar to how you add videos, navigate to your Profile Dashboard and on the left hand column click on the down arrow to the right of Photo Albums to reveal the drop down menu.

Click on Add Photo Album and a new screen will appear to add the photo album information. Add in the pertinent information as instructed for the video section prior. Then click save and add photos at the bottom.

A new screen will appear where you add the photos from your computer. Be sure to add a title and description for every photo. Once you are finished adding your photos, go back to the original screen and change Publish to Yes.

Visit your profile by clicking on View Public Profile to make sure your photos are appearing how you wish.

Posting Coupons

Similar to how you add videos and photos, navigate to your Profile Dashboard and on the left hand column click on the down arrow to the right of Coupons to reveal the drop down menu. Coupons are promoted in Crosswater Connect’s weekly email newsletter and on our social networks. They are a wonderful way to add interest and traffic to your profile.

Click on Add Coupon and a new screen will appear to add the coupon information. Add in the pertinent information and then check Yes to Publish when complete.  Be sure to add in category, promo code (you make this up and keep track via your accounting systems), end date, smart tags, description and an external web link if applicable. Please also add a photo for that particular coupon on the right side of the screen if you have one. Make sure to check Publish to Yes and view it on your public profile.

Posting Events

Navigate to your Profile Dashboard and on the left hand column click on the down arrow to the right of Events to reveal the drop down menu. Events are also promoted in Crosswater Connect’s weekly email newsletter and on our social networks. They are another great way to add interest and traffic to your profile.

Fill out all the necessary fields for the event including an appropriate photo, location, address and cost. If there is no cost, then please include that as well. When posting events, it is important to select a specific start and end date. When you want to select a time, you do that by clicking on the little clock image on the bottom of the calendar pop up that comes up when you select the date. If it is a reoccurring event then please delay the end date and in the description section include when the event occurs and frequency for example, the third Thursday of every month.

Make sure to check Publish to Yes and view it on your public profile.

Other Resources to Expand your Profile

There are several other ways to build out your Crosswater Connect profile. The more content you place on your profile, the more traffic potential you achieve and we will have something to promote on your behalf! Other items include:

  • Properties (great for realtors or property managers)
  • Member articles (such as blog posts, white papers, interviews, etc.)
  • Job listings
  • Products

Earning More Reviews

Members with positive reviews receive the highest. By asking friends, customers and colleagues to recommend you, your rankings will instantly increase. Also, visitors feel confident when contacting members who have positive reviews. We want you to get as many glowing reviews as possible. Here are some ways to generate more reviews.

When you reach out to your customers whether it’s through face-to-face meetings or virtual connections (email, social sites, etc.), please make sure to ask them to review you on Crosswater Connect. Explain briefly what it is so they learn that it is a resource for Nocatee where they can read their neighbor’s reviews and contact local service providers. The more traffic the site gets the better we all do!

Did you know you can also request reviews through Crosswater Connect?

Navigate to your Profile Dashboard and on the left hand column click on the down arrow to the right of Manage Profile to reveal the drop down menu. The last item in the list is Request Reviews. Select that option and a new window will open with a box to add email addresses. Add email addresses separated by a comma. Click Send Invitations, and it will automatically generate an email to those listed email addresses asking the person to review you on Crosswater Connect.

This is the email template of what is sent when you request reviews.

Review Us Button

We also have a “Review Us!” button that we encourage you to place on your website that will link to your Crosswater Connect listing. You can add the button by adding the code to the back end of your website. Let us know if you have any trouble adding it to your site and linking it to your listing.

Another idea that will help drive reviews is to add the Review Us button and link to your email signature. We also encourage you to email your customer or potential customer lists letting them know you are on Crosswater Connect and inviting reviews.

Responding & Accepting Leads

As a member, you can respond to and accept leads from Crosswater Connect. If a potential customer hits Send Message while on your profile, you should receive an email with the note and contact information from that prospect. Please know you cannot respond to that email. Instead, you must log in to your Crosswater Connect profile. You can do it directly form the email by clicking the link at the bottom or just log in regularly.

Navigate to your Profile Dashboard and on the left hand column you will see Notifications. If you have a lead, you will see a number to the right of Notifications such as 1 if you have 1 lead.

Click on Notifications and a drop down menu will appear. Then click "Manage Leads."

You will see your lead there and click on View Details to access the information.

This will take you to a preview. Then click on Accept Lead.

The final screen will show the lead information including email, phone, and message from the prospect. You will then either call or email the person from your email.

Note: We suggest not accepting leads that look like spam.
